Be the Change: My Two Blankets
A read-aloud book and activity that explores concepts of inclusion, empathy, and social justice related to the refugee experience.
Mindfulness is a powerful mechanism of change. Once we bring greater awareness to our own inner lives, we become capable of making intentional choices that are healthier and kinder for ourselves and others.
This process of self-discovery leads to a deeper understanding of the shared human experience. We realize the interconnectedness of all things and our role in affecting the lives of others with our thoughts, words, and actions. Mindfulness awakens our innate compassion and motivates us to serve one another to the best of our ability.
If we care about creating a more peaceful and just world, rather than focusing solely on outward action, we must spend time attending to our own inner transformation. Rather than perpetuating social injustice through our own conditioned and often unconscious biases, we can begin to align ourselves with our highest values and truly become the change we wish to see in the world.
Power to Be provides workshops on mindfulness for activists of all ages. Contact Grace to request a workshop for your organization or workplace. Upcoming workshops available to the public will be posted here.
