We live in a time of great fear – and great potential. We are facing crises on the personal, community, national, and global levels. We are also experiencing massive resilience and powerful movements for justice.
Mindfulness empowers us to be the change we wish to see in the world. With mindfulness, which comes from the teachings of ancient Buddhism, we notice what is happening within us and around us in the present moment. We develop greater awareness of our thoughts, emotions, sensations, and environment. This awareness empowers us to respond rather than react to our experiences and to live our daily lives with greater clarity, purpose, and agency.
